Once a farmer had bought land from the owner on a lease for 10 years. Throughout those four years the farmer's family worked hard to farm the land and was able to earn enough income to survive. After the 10 years the owner came back and started his own work. The son of the farmer was very furious as to why they were on "his" land. The young boy went to the owner and was arguing with him. The owner told him that it was his land. The young boy went to his father who explained to him that the land was their's for only 10 years. The boy had grown attached to something that wasn't his.
Attachment to material things can be bad. This is because materials things always come and go. These things only give humans temporary happiness. If one wants happiness for the rest of his life he has to lead a life dedicated to God. Once you are with God He will not let you go. He will provide with eternal happiness.
